Cuttlebug Challenge #93-Christmas In July

Our challenge this week was to do a Christmas card based on a sketch from our design team member Diane Campell Payne. For my card, I gave it a different angle from the sketch posted, but that's the fun thing about sketches..you can play around with it to make it your own!!..

For the embossing I used my Snowflake Cuttlebug folder on plain white cardstock for the frame and then used Scotch mounting tape to pop it. The same embossing folder was used for the squares and they too were popped. The printed cardstock is Joann's Peppermint Forest. From silver thread I hung silver confetti snowflakes. The large snowflake was cut using my Joy of the Season Cricut cartridge and then 'Stickled' with silver.

Have Your Way With Paper Card Challenge

Not only am I on the Design Team at Have Your Way With Paper, but I'm also the moderator for the Card Forum.  Each month I have a card challenge with a different theme or style and love seeing our members' talent creating a card. This card challenge was for our Housewarming Online Scrap Weekend and was Christmas in July themed.  The card I made is an easel style card which is so easy to do!  I wanted a square card so the measurements are 10 X 5 with scoring at 3 inches and 5 inches. 

supplies used were: My Minds Eye cardstock, Cordinations, Just Rite Stamps, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Martha Steward and Stazon ink, computer Word printing. Gold and white cardstock unknown

What I've been doing...

Just thought I would take the time and post a few things I worked on these last couple of days.

This layout was done from a sketch by Trisha posted on her site Sketch Inspiration. Thank you Trisha for a great sketch!! 

Cute litte penquins!!..I love my Martha Stewart Deep Edge border punch!!..This one is called Doily Lace Trim and you can also see it in the layout above. The tag was stamped using Just Rite Stampers and then cut with a Nestability

For this card, I used Glitter Mist on a tag I had cut and then used my new Ornament embossing folder from Provo Craft..Adding some Stickles gave it a festive look.  The border is again one of my new Martha Stewart Deep Edge punch called Garden Trellis.  Don't you just love it?!!

New Cuttlebug Embossing Folder-Card

I received my order of new embossing folders from HSN!!..Here is a card I made using the snowflakes and cardinal folders.  After embossing the cardinal folder on vellum, I adhered it to shiny red cardstock. The border punch is from Martha Stewart; Prima flower and leaves.
