Be Inspired Wednesday #29

Hello everyone!!..It's that time again at Cuttlebug Challenge to Be Inspired!! This week our design team had digital stamps from My Grafico to design. This set is called Shopping Boutique and has fun clipart stamps for the the 'shopping girl'!!..We were to make a Mother's Day card with an envelope, but...I forgot the envelope part..sorry..:(...Using PSP, I took the one flower and made a double flower stamp. I then used the center point feature on my Cricut to cut a heart around the flowers. Yellow chalk was used to tone down the white and yellow ink was used around the edges. Bick Makers were used to color in the flowers and then blinged up with Stickles. In the center of the flowers I used FlowerSoft which worked out perfectly. Swiss Dot embossing folder on the vellum and Textile embossing folder used on the DCWV yellow cardstock. Fiskars heart punch for the border, ribbon and ric rac unknown. The front is cut just a little short so you can see the yellow inside cardstock. Be sure to stop by Cuttlebug Challenge and see what the design team has to share with you this week. Enter your take on the challenge and be entered to win the Shopping Boutique digital stamp set.

Only a few more days for our Spa Weekend Event May 1-3!!! Be prepared for fun, challenges, classes and prizes galore!!!

Be Inspired Wednesday #28

Here it is..Be Inspired Wednesday at CuttlebugChallenge and another exciting sponor, Marks Paper Company, sharing their awesome product. Sadly, I did not received the paper to work with, so I did a digital using their Old Fashioned Courtship kit. I have a small digital file because I do like to play around with digital, but my heart belongs to 'paper'..Guess it's the feelie touchie thing..lol..The 'He Loves Me' is part of this kit along with all the 'papers'. To make this a true Cuttlebug Challenge, I added cuttlebug butterflies. Using a picture of the 4 embossed butterflies that Provo offers, I cropped the one I wanted to use and did a copy/paste onto my digital. By using the eraser in my program (PSP), I was able to get rid of the white background and blend it into the sponsor's papers leaving what looks like a shadow. The other journaling was done with my computer font. When you visit Marks Papers be sure to check out the gallery where you will find projects in paper, digital and hybrid. Don't forget to see what our Design Team has to share with you this week and your participation will enter you to win a paper pack for Marks Papers!!

My Life This Past Week

I am posting this for my sweet friends who have no idea why I have been 'missing in action'.

One week ago today (and about this time) I experienced an 'episode'. Long story short, I ended up needing a pacemaker after having way too many 'episodes' and...(this is the 'good part') flatlining twice..Yep...you read that right.

I just got home a few hours ago and except for being sore, I'm doing ok.

One day, I will post about my 'death' experience, but right now, I need to catch up on emails, posting and whatever else has become a part of my life before this interruption..!!!

This is a layout I did based on a sketch from my sweet friend Trisha. Please check out her blog to see this cool sketch and I'm sure she will be sharing more of her talent with us. Thank you, Trisha for my 'Nina" page!!

Be Inspired Wednesday #26 Embossing

Hi everyone and welcome again to another Be Inspired Wednesday at Cuttlebug Challenge.
This week our challenge was to do an Easter project and incorporate vellum embossing. I am so in love with the look of vellum when embossed, but sadly, I forget to use it more often. This challenge was perfect reminder for me to emboss vellum and with my cuttlebug folder, so easy!!
Please stop by Cuttlebug Challenge and see what the design team has to show you. And don't forget to show us your take on the challenge by posting it through Mr Linky. 2 lucky winners will receive a $5.00 gift card from our great sponsor Cropstop.
For my card I used the textile cuttlebug embossing folder, DCWV cardstock, Prima flower, leaves and bling, green ribbon was from Target. Vellum and light green ribbon, unknown, Versa Magic chalk ink. Borders were cut using Martha Stewart border punches.

Be Inspired Wednesday #25 SheetLoad

Hello and welcome to Be Inspired Wednesday #25!!

Thank you Alicia for sponsoring us this week with your frosted card and clear acetate. Sheetload is owned by Alicia the creator of ShortCuts. For my card I used the frosted front over an orange card and all that was put over a blue card. The orange card and blue card were embossed with the bird and swirls cuttlebug folder. I also used my sanding block to bring out the embossing (love that look!). Prima bird and flowers were set on the frosted card with the bird set on pop dots. The tag is also on pop dots for more added dimension. Martha Stewart punch was used for the lace border after cutting a little of that part of the card off and then I added a matching paper strip along the edge of the inside of the card. DCWV solid paper and printed paper used was K&Company. Stickles, ColorBox ink chalk and Wrights ribbon were used; fibers, unknown. The design of my card is based on a sketch provided to us by SheetLoad.

Be sure to stop by CuttlebugChallenge and check out what the design team did for you. Also, let's see your card by using Mr Linky to upload. Can't wait to see what you do!!

If you haven't done so yet, be sure to take the ProvoCraft survey!!
