Be Inspired Wednesday #51

Welcome scrappers to another Be Inspired Wednesday at Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot!! Today you will see the final installment of our month long Birthday Palooza.  Once everything is said and done with the party, it's time to send the Thank You card.  Since I knew our birthday girl would be gracious enough to send a thank you card for the awesome presents she received, I decided to make a little gift box with thank you note cards.  This will be tucked in the gift box that was personally made for her.

The gift box is the 'mini pizza box' that was modified to hold my 4x4 note cards.  The card is a single card that can be journaled on the back.  I also made the envelope to hold the 4x4 size card.

Keeping with my Tea Party Birthday, I used the same Core'dinations cardstock as I did in the previous projects along with Provo Craft's embossing folders, Victoria and Swiss dots.  Cricut cut flowers, Nestabilities used for the tags, Fiskars border punch, Stickles and ColorBox Chalk help finish the look.

Don't forget to check out Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot to see what our talented Design Team has for you this week.  Also, if you haven't uploaded your Be Inspired Wednesday projects, please do so by using Mr. Linky.  Remember, become a follower, do the Be Inspired Wednesday projects and post to Mr. Linky to be illegible to win the GRAND PRIZE!!

A big thank you to our sponsors, Provo Craft, Core'dinations and Sakura pens.

Sunflowers and Dragonflies Challenge

I made this card for a challenge at Sunflowers and Dragonflies where we were asked to make a fairy tale card.  Now, perfect would be the cute set of stamps, Alice in Wonderland, that Beth has. However, if you didn't have those stamps any fairy tale stamp would do. The prize is the complete set of the Alice in Wonderland stamps and oh boy, would I love to win!!!..

Here is my 'Tinkerbell'.  You can't get any more 'fairy' tail then that..lol..

For my card, I used Prima flowers
Marth Steward border punch
K & Co pre-folder card and printed cardstock
Stickles
ColorBox chalk ink
Quick Quotes inkpad
Miss Elizabeth sticky lace paper ribbon

Be sure to check out Beth's site for some great inspiration from her design team!!

Tea Party PlaceCard/Napkin Holder Tutorial

It is my pleasure to bring you the latest for my Tea Party Birthday!!.As you may know, all this month Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot is having their one year birthday celebration. The Design Team was asked to create a party theme and make the necessary crafts to make your party complete.

This week I am showing you how easy it is to make a place card/napkin holder. By using my Cricut and Design Studio, I created my card by using the cartridge George and Basic Shapes.

After cutting your card, score so the end flaps fold inward; your design should be showing on the outside. On the rounded end, come in 1/2 inch and cut a slit. This will allow the pointed end to slide through. Slide that end in about 1/4 inch and fold the pointed flap down. You can square off the point if needed. When you put this together, just adjust with your hands so it stands up straight. I cut my slit a little too long and this caused the tip, when put through, unwanted sliding room. Once I got it lined up where it should be, I used a dab of glue to hold it down.

Now it's time to decorate!!
I wanted to keep with my theme, so I did not need much to bring it together. Once again I used the Victoria embossing folder on the card and Swiss Dot for the flower. I just love Core'dinations paper for embossing and sanding!!

I added the large flower, lace and 3 little flowers. Then I cut the tag using my oval Nestabilities and 'Betty' was cut using the cartridge Cursive 101 on my Cricut.

Here is a side view of what it looks like... And here is my finished project now with the folded napkin inserted through the opening....

If you would like this file cut, please let me know and I will email it to you. If you can not use the file cut, I can send you a template to work with.

The month is not over yet!!..There is still more to come!!..I hope you have enjoyed seeing what the Design Team has been creating for you and remember, be entered to win the grand prize, you must complete all the Be Inspired Wednesday challenges for September, become a follower of Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot and use Mr. Linky to post your creation!!

Layout Challenge For Have Your Way With Paper

Over at Have Your Way With Paper, one of our challenges was to do a layout using the same photo twice. This was a perfect challenge for me to do a hybrid layout. I love having my wide format printer because it allows me to print right on a 12x12 paper. I'd like to share with you what I did

Digital Delight Sketch #6

Be Inspired Wednesday #49

Welcome back!!..This week at Be Inspired Wednesday, the Design Team at Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot made mini albums to go with our birthday theme!!..My album was so easy to do it's embarrsing to say what I did..lol..I love taking advantage of sales and that is what I did when I found notecards on sale a couple years ago (yeah, I hold on to things..lol) at Target!!..By adhering the backs to the front of the cards, I was able to make an album. I used Core'dination cardstock embossed with the Victoria embossing folder from Provo Craft and the Cuttlebug butterfly cut an emboss combo. The cardstock was used inside and all the receiver would need to do is mat a photo and dress it to her liking. I will be putting this in the gift bag I made last week along with a few embellishments; flowers, brads, etc.

Be sure to stop by Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot to see what our Design Team has for you this week. Also, remember to check out the past Wednesday challenges and do a little catching up so you will have your project done in time to be entered for our grand prize!!

A big thank you to our sponsors this month.

Tea Party Centerpiece Tutorial

Some of you have been following the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot and my blog to know that all this month we are celebrating our ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY at Cuttlebug Challenge!! Each Design Team member chose a theme for their party and I chose...Tea Party Birthday!! If you are new, please enjoy what the Design Team has created for you thus far.

I am so excited to show you what I made for my Tea Party centerpiece! Trust me, this was so easy to do, but actually looks like a lot went into it.

Here are the supplies I used. Now, most of you know that I will pull together what I think I'm going to use, but by the time I get started I always end up adding or taking something away. That's ok; you can do that :) I bought a square styrofoam block and cut it down to the size I wanted for my project. Four sheets of Core'dination cardstock was cut about 1/4 inch taller than the block so I would have a valley to work with. I used my Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder on the cardstock and then used my sanding block to bring up the under color. Once I used my hot glue gun to attached the sides, I measured cardstock to cover the seams.
I was lucky enough to find strands of beads that I bought on sale after Christmas one year; how perfect for my 'look'!! I draped the beads and with plenty of hot glue tucked them into the corners. I did each strand separately.

For the flower stems, I found large craft sticks that were colored using Glitter Mist. Using my Rangers work mat, I sprayed Olive Vine Glitter Mist right on the mat and with a sponge brush, brushed on the 'paint'. I wish you could see the pretty sheen it left on the wood!
My flowers were cut using my Cricut; sorry don't remember which cartridge I used. Some flowers were embossed with the Swiss Dot folder and some were embossed with the Victoria folder. Also used with those flowers and alone were Prima flowers and Prima centers. Cuttlebug cut and emboss butterfly combo was used and lace for a bow. I used my Sizzix leaf/stem die with a little added Stickles. With the extra strands of beads, I arranged them inside the 1/4 well I had made.

Here is a close-up of the front where you can see how awesome the embossing looks on the Core'dinations cardstock.

Here is a photo showing how it will look on my table

Be Inspired Wednesday #48

Welcome back!!..If you are new to my blog, I'll let you know what all the excitement is about. Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot is celebrating it's ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY and we are all having a party!! This week, the Design Team was asked to make a gift bag and card. Keeping with my theme (Tea Party Birthday) and look, this is what I made!!..

Using my Cricut and the 12x24 mat, I was able to size the gift bag from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. Using the Design Studio helped me to get the bag as big as I could on the work mat and having the right size Cricut cardstock could not have been any easier. The cup was cut from Child's Year using Core'dinations cardstock, leaves from my Sizzix die, flowers cut with my Cricut, but don't remember what cartridge I used..sorry. I embossed the flowers using the Swiss Dot and Victorian folders. Centers are from Prima.

For the card, again I used Core'dinations embossed with the Provo Craft Birthday Wishes Die Cut and Embossing Combo. Sanded the candles and used Stickles for the flame. The birthday sentiment is from the same combo. I am having so much fun doing my birthday kit and hope you enjoy seeing what I am doing.

Be sure to check out Cuttlebug Challenge to see what our Design Team has to share with you this week.

Be Inspired Wednesday #47 Party Invitations!

It's Party Time!!!..In celebration of Cuttlebug Challenge's one year birthday, we are going to celebrate all month long!! Each week you will see another project and by the last Wednesday of the month, we will be doing Thank You cards.
To get my party started, I made invites using the tea pot card from the cartridge A Child's Year. Core'dinations was perfect for my card allowing me to emboss the tea cup with the Victoria embossing folder, getting the matching color inside and getting the perfect match when tearing. I got some of the embossing on the frame of the card, so I decided to make a top frame to cover it. I simply cut out the tea pot and would have used it for the inside information, but I made a typing error; so I made another tea pot.:). The paper doily worked out perfectly as did the computer for the printing of the information. The lace fold down the front and back so it covers the top where you can see the pop dots between the frames. Color Box chalk ink and Sakura Gelly-Roll pen finished off the card.
You must check out what the Design Team has for you this week!!..No two themes are the same and they will knock your socks off with their talent!!
Be sure to enter each challenge week so you can be eligible for the GRAND PRIZE at the end of the month!!
