Happy Birthday

Prima flowers, bling and butterfly...don't you just love them??!! I needed a quick mojo and thought a card would do it, especially since I wanted to play with my new stash. I have a thing for fibers and love using them on or around flowers. I actually have to tell myself..'not on every card"!

Joe, this is for you

Need a little humor or those tid-bits of info that either make you say 'ummmm' or 'gee, I could use that in a conversation, then check out my husband's blog Joe Zuba is the name and talking his his game. Ok, pretty bad, but that's what his blog is all about. Joeyzspeakeasy. Soon I will be telling you about a book he has written as soon as I know it will be out for purchase. It's in the final stages now with the publisher. Lighthearted, fun, witty and sarcastic is what it's all about.

Good Afternoon

Yep it's me, Rosemary Zuba, scrapper/cardmaker and whatever else I feel the need to be challenged by. This is an open invite to stop by often to see what's new and what fun and informative links you can visit. Be sure to leave comments; I love hearing from you!!

May's ATC

May's challenge was to use a brown paper bag. The background was embossed with my cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder and taped to cardstock. Using brown and gold ink, I gave it a designed look. The flower pot was cut using my Sizzix die and that too was embossed (don't remember the name of the folder). Again, I used ink to give it color. Then the flower pot was set on pop dots for dimension. Luckily, I was at a SWARM when I did these and someone had the Beaches cartridge for me to cut this little guy!!..He is a perfect finishing touch!! The 'cactus' was cut with my Cricut Home Accents cartridge and then topped with Stickles. Please check out Ker's blog to see some awesome ATCs by some very talented ladies.

KI Memories Sponsor Challenge

Don't you just love these papers?!! How fun to mix the prints for Arianna's birthday layout. The pink swirl is another of my Prima buys that I knew would look too cute on this page. Isn't she a little doll!!

Prima Butterflies

This is a card I made for Trisha's flourish challenge at Have Your Way With Paper I just received these awesome Prima butterflies and couldn't wait to use them. The stud flourish is also Prima..gotta love it!!!..I was able to get this card done before I left for vacation, but didn't get a chance to post until now.

Back from vacation....

and it rained all week!!..It's still raining, but my flowers look pretty..:) Trying to catch up on emails and things that need to get done for my Texas trip next week. Oh, did I forget to mention..I'm going to Texas!!!..Meeting up with some of my sister scrappers from Have Your Way With Paper and it just happens that we are staying near the Great American Scrapbook Convention!!!..Arlington, Texas!! Our plan is to spend one whole day checking out all the booths and buying..shhhhh..(yes, buying..lol) I have a couple things that I want to showcase on my blog, so off to get that done!!

VACATION

I just received my huge order of Prima flowers, butterflies and bling and don't have time to play with them..!!..Heading out today and will be gone for a week to spend time at our timeshare. I'm thinking of packing a few things to scrap, but not sure if this will go over well with my husband..lol

Between doctor visits and fun stuff, I'm going to have a busy next several weeks. June 3-6, I will be in Texas meeting up with some sweet online sisters from Have Your Way With Paper. There will be only 8 of us, with one girl I had met on her trip to Disney. Yes, I live that close to the mouse..lol..How fun to have a scrapbooking convention in town only a few miles away from where we are staying. We often talked about getting together and this seemed like a perfect excuse..lol..

So, things to do and places to go...catch ya later!!
This is a card I made at the recent SWARM I attended. Something so simple was shown to us that several of us had to try it. Using butterfly stickers (sorry, don't have the manufactured name), I took one butterfly and set it on vellum. Used my Bic markers and colored in the wings. Then I trimmed it and adhered it to the cardstock. For the top butterfly, it was attached to the transparency that was in the packaging and again trimmed. This gave the top butterfly some stability. Glue dots down the body held the two butterflies together.

Wordle Challenge

At Have Your Way With Paper, Erin gave us a challenge using Wordle. I was able to do a 12x12 Hybrid printing the 'wordle' right on my paper. I love my Epson 1400!!!. The large photo corners were designed using Design Studio since I could not find any corners to cut with the cartridges I have. I used George by welding two rectangles and then trimming the ends; brads finished it off.

Fish Pedicure

This is a layout I have been wanting to do since...um...January..lol..I finally got it done!! Fish Pedicure..yep, just what it says; little tiny carp eat away dead skin. This sounded interesting enough that I had to try it. Elizabeth, my son's girlfriend, and I went for a pedicure. She wasn't going to have the 'fish' done, but I explained it really didn't feel bad at all. She took the plunge and did it!!..As it turned out, after we had this done, it was just a matter of time before Florida banned the fish procedure. I don't regret having it done! Background paper is DCWV, solid blue is Coredinations. Cricut cuts and the quill I had forever and don't remember the name.

May Card Challenge HYWWP

Over at Have Your Way With Paper, I have a May Card Challenge going on. This month's challenge was to make a card in a 'different' kind of shape, not a square or rectangle that we are so use to doing. Since I have the Wild Card cartridge, I thought it would be fun to see what shape I can come up. This triangle card was simple enough and fun to do with doublesided papers. K&Co papers, Prima flowers, ribbons and lace..unknown. Stop over and take the challenge!!..I will be giving a small prize, but you can't win if you don't enter..!! Here is a direct link to the challenge May Card Challenge

Challenges at Have Your Way With Paper!!

More challenges have been added to Have Your Way With Paper!! Check out this link to see all the challenge being offered!! I have a Card Challenge and a Stamp Challenge happening right now. I will be working on my card and stamp challenge which will be posted at 'Paper' and here. Hope you join me with this challenge and any other challenge you find interesting!!

Be Inspired Wednesday #30

A slice of cake with NO calories!!! This week at Cuttlebug Challenge, I received this cake slice die cut from Creative Cuts and More that I got to decorate! The score lines were perfect for easy folding and the back had a slit on one side for the other side to slide in for easy closing and opening should you decide to use this slice of cake for a party/wedding favor. I made a border with my heart shaped Fiskars punch and another border done with my textile Cuttlebug embossing folder. All I needed to do now is dress it up with flowers, ribbon, pearls, Stickles and little fiber in the center of the large white flower.
Be sure to stop by Cuttlebug Challenge to see what our design team has for you this week. I'm sure there will be enough inspiration for you to give a project a try and post it using Mr. Linky.

Cuttlebug Spa weekend: Relax, Rejuvenate, Be Inspired!

This is it!!!...Our Spa Weekend at CuttlebugChallenge !! What a fantastic way to start National Scrapbooking Day, May 3, by starting a day earlier and giving away some awesome prizes!! Read through my post so you can see what you must do to be entered to win one of many prizes being offered by our Design Team and some great sponsors!!

THE SUNFLOWER...(Helianthus annuus) is an annual plant in the family Asteraceae and native to the Americas, with a large flowering head (inflorescence). The stem can grow as high as 3 meters (9 3/4 ft) and the flower head can reach 30 cm (11.8 in) in diameter with the "large" seeds. The term "sunflower" is also used to refer to all plants of the genus Helianthus, many of which are perennial plants. (wikipedia)...

Let's forget for a moment those details from science class and let me share with you my feelings about the sunflower. Just the name alone makes me think of life, life that the sun gives us. It looks up to the sun for strength and growth just as I do. Imagine relaxing in a field of sunflowers letting the sun rejuvenate your very being. Oh, I just close my eyes and go into my little mental world of being one of the sunflowers with the clear blue sky above me and the bright sun whose rays peeking out from behind a cloud look like water pouring out of a watering can. Now that the sun has done it's miracle on me, it's time to relax in a tub of water allowing my body to absorb the wetness into my body and limbs. Again, I close my eyes and pretend I am that sunflower replenishing the water into the roots of my body.

Please share with me your favorite flower....

I would love to have you follow me as I express my creative "liberties". Leave me a comment and join my blog. Move on to the next 'flower' by clicking on Tracy . Keep a list of DT names and their flower so that once you have visited each 'flower' you can send an email to cuttlebugchallengecontest@gmail.com with your completed list.

Be sure to keep checking back at cuttlebugchallenge for info, updates and maybe a few fun surprises happening all weekend long!!
